Mary Louise Stephenson
So Dearly Loved
Hickory / Canton- Mary Louise Stephenson, a truly special lady, was carried to her eternal heavenly home by the angels, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Louise was born October 6, 1940 in Haywood County to the late Clarence Stephenson and the late Nancy Winifred Warren Stephenson. For the 81 years of her wonderful life she has been a blessing to her family and her many friends that loved her dearly. She had resided in Catawba County for the past 10 years and most recently had made her home with her loving sister in Hickory. Recalling stories and reminiscing about times gone by will always be cherished memories that Louise often delighted in sharing with her family. Louise was a strong and independent lady who enjoyed her employment in the trucking and shipping industry and was a well known truck driver throughout the area. Louise loved her mountain heritage and she delighted in visiting the Stomping Ground in Maggie Valley, and stepping onto the dance floor with her natural clogging talent. She had also been a member of several square dance teams in the area. We give thanks for the life of Louise and let us each remember her sweet words of love and encouragement which she often shared with her son following a visit – never a goodbye but always , “I will see you soon”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Carolyn Stephenson
Surviving are her son, Terry Donaldson and Melia of Catawba; sisters, Lillian Huffman of Hickory and Frances Rathbone of Lincolnton; a brother, Bobby Clarence Stephenson of Lincolnton; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
A graveside funeral service to remember and celebrate the life of Louise will be held at 1:00 Saturday. June 18, 2022 at Inman Chapel Cemetery, 9 Hightower Road in Canton. Terry Donaldson will honor his mother by officiating at the funeral service.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the family of Mary Louise Stephenson.
