Asheville- Mashell Owenby Hoglen, age 56, a lady loved by everyone blessed to know her, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Mashell was born August 15, 1964 in Buncombe County to Jake Owenby and the late Ruth King Owenby. As we remember Mashell let us always carry in our hearts the special memories of her loving and kind spirit. Mashell devoted her life to caring and helping others and she was indeed an angel here on earth. She loved her family with all her heart and soul and Mashell’s memory will be cherished forever by each of them.

Surviving in addition to her father are her children, Jeremy Banning of Fairview, Jennifer Banning of Asheville, Allen Hoglen and Kathleen of Canton and Lemuel Jake Hoglen and Taryn of Candler; grandchildren, Charlie, Ayanna, Thomas, Jordan and Amaya .

A celebration of life service to honor Mashell will be held at 6:30 pm Monday, June 21, 2021 at “The Barn” located at Maple Ridge Baptist Church, 133 Medford Branch Road , Candler, NC 28715

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for Mashell and her family.

My sister I’m gonna miss you something fierce,you’ve always told me we had kindred hearts your right because mine is on overload right now to Jenny,Allen and Kathleen, Jake andTayra , Jeramy and Amber I know by listening to your Mom. She is so Proud of each of you .She always said she wish she had more of herself to give I told her she did and it showed by how bright she lit up when she spoke of you.
