Mike Burrell
A Man Deeply Loved

Canton - Mike Burrell, age 70, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, Mike was born November 21, 1950 to Betty Towe Burrell and the late Brownlowe Burrell.
Mike grew up in Canton where he graduated from Pisgah High School and was employed by Evergreen Packaging for 40 dedicated years. He was a Vietnam veteran and had honorably and proudly served his country. Mike had a heart of gold and was always looking for a way to make people laugh. He would help anyone who needed a helping hand and brought joy to so many. People often say, “You live your obituary daily by how you live your life,” -this is so true for Mike. He loved his family, friends, country, and the Lord. He will be missed everyday by his family that loved and cherished him so much.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Burrell; sister, Mary Lou White; and a close family member, Gregory Worley.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Burrell; a son, Jason Burrell; a niece who he loved as a daughter, Candy Inman; his grandchildren, Micah Burrell and fiancée Coty Inman, Mckenzie Smalling and husband Travis, Lyndsey Burrell, Krystan Scott and husband Dalton, Blake Burrell, Mckain Queen, and Luke Burrell; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gary Burrell and wife Mary, and Ricky Burrell.
To honor Mike’s request, no formal services will be held. The family will celebrate his life with a family gathering.
