Norma "Jean" Wiggins Gaddis
Remembering a Special Lady
Canton- We rejoice that Norma Jean Wiggins Gaddis, age 87, entered into her glorious Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Jean was born on December 17, 1933 to the late Ralph Patrick Wiggins and the late Connie Mae Venable Wiggins. She was a native of Haywood County but her life journey carried her all throughout the Southeast as she and her late husband were employed as co-managers of several hotels and motels throughout this area. Jean was a lady with a strong Christian faith. Mrs. Gaddis was a dedicated member of Mountain View Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was also a member of the church choir. Jean loved her church and her church family and for many years she faithfully saw that the church was always kept immaculately for worship services and all other church functions. Jean was blessed with a kind, caring, and sweet spirit, and everyone loved her. Her nieces and nephews were indeed a special part of her life and she surrounded each one of them with love and attention that they will never forget. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching Jean fish was always a happy memory of her family. Jean always felt content when she was able to work outside among her lovely flowers and quietly watch the many birds that frequently visited the Gaddis home. Cardinals were her favorite and it is often said that when a cardinal appears it is a gentle reminder of a loved one who has passed. In the days to follow when we see a beautiful red cardinal let us think of Norma Jean Wiggins Gaddis, and remember the blessing that she has been to so many throughout her life. We shall forever miss her beautiful smile and her giving heart but we will hold onto her precious memory forever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65years George A. Gaddis who passed away in 2015; an infant son Michael Keith Gaddis; a sister, Joyce Freda Wiggins; and a brother, Roy Patrick Wiggins.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Sheila Patton and Jack of Canton, and Linda Maney of Bryson City; brothers, R.C. Wiggins and Doris of Canton, and Carl Wiggins of Mountain City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Mountain View Church of God. Pastor Mike Hicks will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Gaddis' memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Gaddis family.
