Pansy “Patsy” Thelma Abel Young, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

She was born during the blessed Christmas season of December 29, 1935 to the late Jasper Fannin Abel and the late Ethel Lewis Abel. Patsy had made her home in Haywood County all of her life and she had been a dedicated employee of  Canton Laundry/ Plus Laundry where she retired with 15 years of service.  Patsy often enjoyed walking to work and being able to say hello to her many friends along the way. She was a member of Canton Free Will Baptist Church in Canton. Taking joy car rides with her family and friends to go sightseeing was also something she truly enjoyed. Patsy loved her home and during her quiet times she could often be found working crossword puzzles. As we remember our beloved Pansy, we shall never forget her loving heart and the kind and caring person that she was each and every day.  She shall be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Morgan and Genevie Clontz; and her brothers,Wayne and Bill Abel

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Angela Young of Canton and Alice Y. Rainbolt and Doug Rainbolt of Bastrop, LA; her grandchildren, Amanda Early and Luke Early, Brandon Young, Laura Thames and Jacob Thames, Jeremy Rainbolt and Becky Rainbolt; great-grandchildren, Levi Early, Kamdon Early, Emma Thames, Alex Thames, Brennan Thames and P.K. Rainbolt; her sister, Clara Sanders, Fernandina Beach, FL and also many friends that loved her dearly.
