Raymond William Button

Waynesville – Raymond William “Bill” Button, age 74, of Morning Drive, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016.

Mr. Button was born October 31, 1941 in Syracuse, New York to the late Ray Button and the late Doris Chesebro Button. He was a United States Army Veteran having honorably served his country with a distinguished tour of duty in Germany. Mr. Button had resided in Clearwater, Florida before making his home in Haywood County since 1993. He had been employed with Powell Industries in Waynesville for 22 dedicated years. Mr. Button was a devoted member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Waynesville and he truly loved his church and his church family. Bill will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband and father and his precious grandchildren were the light of his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Freunscht Button of Waynesville; his daughters, Lisa Marie Harracks and her husband, Bobby Harracks of Waynesville and Pamela Jean Buckley and her husband, Paul Buckley of Waynesville; grandchildren, Ryan and Eric Buckley and Rebecca Harracks; a sister, Trudie Judge of New York and many dear friends.

A celebration of life service will be held for Mr. Button at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Waynesville. To honor Bill’s request- casual wear attire for the celebration of life service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 224 Barber Hill Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786.
