Rhonda “Morning Star” Kitchens, age 65, passed away peacefully in her home on September 8, 2022, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Evelyn Greene; four children, Casey Schoen, Travis Hyatt, Cory Carlson, and Joshua Carlson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gordon Kitchens, Allan Kitchens, and Kevin Kitchens; and her loving boyfriend, Richard Daigre, Jr., whom she loved dearly and who stayed by her side every step of the way.

She was predeceased by her father, Nolen Kitchens, and her husband, Tom “Skyhawk” Curtis. Rhonda was born in Texas City, TX in 1957. Later in life, she relocated to North Carolina. In the Smoky Mountains, she found a new home and her second family: a community of bikers and non-profit organizations committed to helping veterans and the community. Eventually, she became the auxiliary president of the VFW Post 5198 and participated in innumerable charity events and fundraisers that enriched many lives.

To honor Rhonda's wishes, no funeral services will be held.
