Ronald Dale Wynes died on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at his residence in Candler. A native of Buncombe County, he was born on May 7, 1953, to his late parents Floyd Washington Wynes, Jr. and Mary Jane Raper Wynes. 

Ronnie graduated from Enka High School in 1971. He worked most of his life as a telecommunications technician. Throughout his life, Ron always demonstrated devotion to his family and friends. He was known to be a friend to many in the community and displayed a kind nature to anyone he met.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Wynes, who passed away in 2004.

Ronnie is survived by his children: Heather Wynes O'Brien of Culpeper, VA,  Eric Wynes of Bealeton, VA, and Christina Wynes Neely of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren; sisters, Judy Wynes Watson of Sanford, NC, Linda Wynes Lail of Shelby, NC, Annette Wynes McFall of Candler, NC, Susan Wynes Ramsey of Candler, NC, Vanita Wynes Price of Candler, NC and also a brother, Joe Wynes of York, SC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Crawford /Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Reverend Dr. Mike Brown will be officiating.

Ronnie was a good man. I graduated with him in 1971. I remember his smile and laugh because they were the most prominent and constant feature he had. He was not afraid to share either of them with anyone. I am praying that God will comfort his family in the days ahead.
