Canton- Ronald “Ronnie” Reath Brown, age 59, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021 at his home with family and friends that loved him deeply by his side.

Ronnie was born June 21, 1962 in Haywood County to the late William R. Huffman and the late Hilda Lee Brown Cogburn. As a young boy growing up he could often be found swimming and playing in the creek or taking part in his favorite game of Cowboys and Indians with his brothers and special friends. After completing his high school years, Ronnie continued his education by studying to become a gifted machinist and later became employed with Carolina Metals Inc. located in Asheville for 30 dedicated years.  Ronnie was a man who loved everyone just as his family. He brought great joy into the hearts of those around him and the precious memories of his caring, kind, and giving spirit will remain a part of us forever. We have peace knowing that Ronnie was a Christian and had attended Spirit and Truth Church located in Canton. We give thanks for his life and we rejoice knowing that he is in paradise on this day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and the mother of his son, Jeannie Brown; and his grandmother and grandfather, Nora May Brown and Pearl Brown.

He is survived by his son, Cameron Brown; his brothers, Marty Cogburn, Scott Cogburn and wife Krista and Gary Cogburn and wife Gina; his second mother that he loved deeply, Audrey Trantham (Jeannie’s mother); uncles, Calvin Brown, and Harley Brown; aunts, Betty Williams, and Lee Attaway; and also several cousins.

A service of remembrance to celebrate and honor Ronnie’s life will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, September 3, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Chris Jennings and Pastor Heath Davis will be officiating. The Brown family kindly asks that those in attendance please wear a face mask and observe social distancing to keep everyone safe and well.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for Ronnie and his loving family.

The memorial service will be livestreamed here for those who wish to take part in the services from home.
