A Loving and Incredible Man

Photo of Ronnie Dale Conard - 1947-2021

Ronnie Dale Conard, age 73, of Canton, NC went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Waynesville, NC on June 3, 1947 to the late Roy and Addie Pressley Conard. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Revonda Conard Inman; brother, Phillip Gary Conard; and grandson, Taylor Conard.

Ronnie graduated from Bethel High School in 1966 and was a member of Old River Baptist Church. Mr. Conard was an incredible man who loved the Lord and his church. He was an amazing husband, father, stepfather, uncle, and papaw, and was loved beyond words. Ronnie always lit up the room with his gift as a storyteller, joke master, and being the funniest man on the planet. Most importantly, his friends and family will miss his kind heart and willingness to help anyone who needed it. Ronnie had a heart of gold and made sure to share that gift with everyone he knew. His family will miss him dearly but we are thankful he is now at peace and is in Heaven on this day.

Surviving are his loving wife of 26-1/2 years, Carolyn Howell Conard; sisters, Patricia Conard Deweese and Janene Crunkleton (Jim); son, Michael Conard; stepson, Jason Reynolds (Cassy); stepdaughter, Jenni Reynolds; granddaughter, Morgan Conard; grandsons, Ryan and Breydon Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Brandon Mendez (Amy), Jason Mendez, Marissa Mendez, Darla Henderson (James), Tim Deweese, Richie Deweese (Tammy), and Diane Conard; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends who were like family.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronnie Conard will be held at a later date.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Conard family.

R.D. Was a great friend. I met him many years ago on a hunting trip in Virginia. He was one of the funniest and kindest friends that anyone could Have. I pray that The Lord will give The Conard family the peace of mind and heart that they will need adjusting to their loss. It certainly was an honor and a pleasure to have had him as my friend. We are sorry for your loss. Ronnie fought hard and talked often about his treatments, having to travel for them and such with Dad. He was a good Christian man who helped Dad out whenever he could, and I know he will be missed. Surely he is in God's presence now. David, on behalf of Nancy and Wade
