Sammy Clayton Shuler born April 30th, 1947 passed away at his home of 40 years on November 10th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Shuler and Maggie Goodson Nelson; 2 brothers, and a sister.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years Wilma Shuler; daughter, Deborah Surrett and a special son-in-law, Dale Surrett; son, Sammy Joe Shuler; 3 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, several nieces and nephews, and a few close friends. 

Sammy was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He loved hunting, fishing, and Chevy trucks.  Most days he could be found outside trimming trees, tending the garden, or chasing the chickens. He was truly loved by all who knew him.  He was the definition of a Perfect Husband, Daddy, Papaw, and Friend. This world will be a little less happy without him here.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Wilma I am so sad to hear about Sammy. I know you all are devastated. I know it's not going to be easy on you all but I know he is out of pain and suffering. Hugs and prayers to you and your family. Tell debra I am so sad for her too. She was a daddy's girl for sure.
