A Godly Woman

We give thanks for the wonderful life of Tammy Allison Justice whose journey on this earth came to a peaceful end on March 30, 2024, just as the world was awakening to the hope of Easter.

Tammy was a beacon of love and faith, born on May 14, 1965, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. For – years, she graced us with her unwavering spirit and kindness. Her life was a testament to her deep faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For 18 dedicated years, Tammy worked with loyalty at Wendy’s in Black Mountain. Her absence will be profoundly felt by her colleagues and the community she served with so much kindness and commitment.

Tammy’s love knew no bounds- it extended to all children, to every creature great and small, and to the beautiful flowers that color our world. She nurtured life in all its forms, reflecting the beauty of creation that she adored.

As a faithful member of Swannanoa Valley Independent Missionary Baptist Church, she will be deeply missed by her church family and her precious memory will be held in each of their hearts forever.

When we think of sweet Tammy, we are reminded of her love for the beach and the ocean- vast, deep, and beautiful. Like the endless waves that touch the shore, Tammy’s love was constant and soothing. The beach was her place of joy and peace.

Tammy cherished her family with every fiber of her being. The love she had for her nieces and nephews was immeasurable and will be etched in their hearts and memories.

Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Tammy. But we each will find comfort in our hearts knowing she is in her glorious place in Heaven on this day. Her wonderful legacy of love, faith, and kindness will be with us forever. In the words of her family, “Tammy was a Godly woman” and she will be deeply missed each and every day.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Louise McCurry Stephenson, and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Justice, and also six precious little blessings that are with the angels in Heaven.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, David Justice of Black Mountain; her father, Charles Stephenson of Swannanoa; her brothers, Elvis McCurry (Becky) of Black Mountain, Gary Allison of Swannanoa and Mike Allison (Lisa) of Old Fort; sisters, Lisa Bogan (Richard) of Swannanoa and Trisa Goldsmith (Mark ) Swannanoa; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Steelman ( David) of Del Rio, Tennessee; nieces and nephews that she adored and also a godson, Kenneth Farmer of the Bethel Community in Canton.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 5, 2024, at Swannanoa Valley Independent Baptist Church. Pastors Randy Gregory, Kenneth Rhinehart, and David Dimsdale will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Mt. View Memorial Park in Black Mountain. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be those of Smoky Mountain Ministries.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tammy’s memory to Smoky Mountain Ministries, 448 Onteora Blvd. Asheville, NC 28803

I’m so sorry. That Tammy is not of this world with us. She gave so much to everyone that knew her. She was one of those that will be remembered because of her witness, but I’m so glad that she suffers no longer, and is present with the first love of her life Jesus our Christ. Her 2nd love will be lost without her here on earth. So sorry for your loss David, but we will all reunite in heaven. What a glorious day that will be!
