Wesley Eugene Rollins
A Loving Husband, Father, and Friend
Wesley Eugene Rollins, age 43, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021.
He was born on February 10, 1977 to Margaret Marler and the late Timothy Williams.
Wes had resided in the Bethel Community throughout most of his youth and attended Pisgah High School. He was raised in Haywood County where he had spent most of his youth in the outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting with his brothers and his dad, and he had continued to enjoy these activities throughout his life. As a young adult, Wes rode motorcycles every Sunday throughout the mountains and on back roads with his many friends. Before making his home in Myrtle Beach to live and work, he had resided in the mountains he loved until 2000. On June 9, 2001, Wes married his longtime girlfriend and soulmate Alecia Lance Rollins. Together they enjoyed fishing, boating, riding his Harley, and having fun in the sun until they were blessed with their beautiful twins and moved back to Haywood County to raise them surrounded by their families. After arriving home, they also celebrated the births of two more children. Wes was employed as a subcontractor, often specializing in flooring. His true passion was to work with wood, building furniture, making flooring from reclaimed lumber, and turning wood on his lathe. Wesley always took great pride in his work. He also loved to cook and grill outdoors for his family and his friends and these will indeed always be cherished memories. Wes had an outgoing personality and made friends everywhere he went. He always made an effort to talk to everyone, and he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillian Pressley and Charles “Jack” Pressley; his biological father, Timothy Williams; his daddy, Bill Rollins; his uncles, Arnold Pressley and Paul Pressley; and many cherished friends.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of nearly 20 years, Alecia Lance Rollins; his beautiful children that made him proud every day, Silence, Cadence, Dixie, and Coley Rollins; his eldest daughter whom he had only begun to get to know but loved dearly, Elizabeth Alexander of Indian Trail, NC; his mother and father, Margaret Marler and David Marler; sister, Tina Rollins; brothers, Dwayne Rollins (Ronette), and Scotty Rollins (Lori); cousin whom he always adored, Denise Taylor; numerous half-brothers and half-sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance and celebration will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, 2021 at East Waynesville Baptist Church. Pastor Scotty Rollins and Pastor Ray Sharpe will be officiating. The family asks that face masks be worn and social distancing be maintained at all times.
