William "Jerry" Jamison
Loved His Family Deeply
Candler – William “Jerry” Jamison, age 73, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Buncombe County, Jerry was born December 7, 1947 to the late William Alexander Jamison and the late Emily McFee Jamison.
Jerry was a graduate of Enka High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Jamison was employed by the United States Postal Service and retired as Postmaster with 34 years of dedicated service. He was a man who enjoyed the simplicity in life, and as a natural outdoorsman, he loved to go hunting and fishing, playing golf, watching NASCAR and baseball and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt and the Atlanta Braves. Above all, he loved his family, and the memories they shared together will remain in their hearts forever.
Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Jamison; son, John Jamison; daughters, Marjorie Allison, Stephanie Jamison-Peterson and husband Brian, Mikal Whitt and husband Tim; five grandchildren, Miles, Silas, Emma, Marie Archer, and Jack; sisters, Gail Franklin and husband Craig, and Pat Jamison; brother, Gary Jamison and wife Sherry; and several nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 4:15 pm Monday, August 23, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 4:15 pm prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
